Caring for your Artisan Handcrafted Horseshoe Nail Jewelry

Care for your handmade horseshoe nail jewelry as you would any delicate piece. Try not to sleep, swim, shower or sunbathe in your jewelry and, when exercising, use discretion in an effort to minimize exposure to excessive body oils and perspiration.

However, wearing your jewelry often actually enhances the patina and, more importantly, you love it so much that you wouldn't be caught without it, no? During those rare occasions when you're not wearing them, we would recommend storing your vast collection of horseshoe nail jewelry pieces in individual pouches or boxes with a packet of desiccant tucked in alongside every splendid pendant or pair of earrings to reduce the likelihood of oxidation. When needed, the nail components may be buffed with plain steel wool to restore their luster. We do not recommend doing this with the beads.

Most of the beads are quite durable but do try to avoid dropping or banging your jewelry against hard surfaces as some of the ceramic ones may quite honestly crack or chip.

Keep chemicals such as perfume, lotions, and make-up away from your jewelry. Always apply cosmetics first and save the best for last: your jewelry.

To keep your jewelry clean, as mentioned above, the nail components may be buffed with steel wool while the beads may be lightly wiped with a damp cloth. Never use harsh abrasives or cleaners or immerse in water or ultrasonic cleaning devices.

The best advice: be yourself and wear it well…
