Rather like the liqueurs from which their names were derived - sipped ever-so-slowly straight or dilute - these are all pieces that make a strong statement with a distinct, lasting impression. Simply irresistable…

First there was Absinthe.
The "Green Fairy" popular among the Bohemian culture of Parisian artists in the 19th-20th centuries was banned in many countries by 1915 for its alleged harmful effects. Its revival in the 1980s has since brought production to nearly 200 brands in the EU and US as of 2008.
Great fans of the anise-flavored spirit: Van Gogh and Oscar Wilde

| 28 - Absinthe You see it once, it catches your eye but you move on to something else, and, for the life of you, you just keep thinking about that delicate piece that works like a little black dress. Is it the perfect symmetry of a single white opalescent bead centered between 2 luscious ruby red enamel jewels on 18" black stainless steel choker? Or is that legendary Green Fairy? $27 Click here to buy |

And then came Pastis
.
During its absence from the markets the major producers, Pernod Fils and Ricard, reformulated the drink sans the banned wormwood herb and less alcohol, thus creating another anise-flavored liqueur called Pastis. |
||
| 26 - Pastis As classic as a lingering glass of the French aperitif and trendier than any of the restaurants and hotels who persist in attaching it to their names, as if to say they were the original. This, however, is. Chain and clasp crafted out of Swedish Mustad MUD nails (used for traction in mud or snow) measures roughly 8" in length. $46 Buy it here |

And of course there is always
.
Pernod and Fils
|
||
| 26-P - Pernod A deviant of Pastis, both in reality and in the minds of its creators of liqueur and jewelry - heavy on the anise and light on the nails (instead of nails used for traction in mud and snow, these are used for racing). Chain and clasp combined measure more or less 9" $46 Buy Now |

| 26-F - Fils Well, as in "petit fils" - the little boy, the grandson. A few less links in the chain than Pernod and a variation of the race nail that almost seems to patter... a Mustad with a slightly larger head. Chain and clasp on this are 8.5" in length. $46 Buy it here |
